About Ebert Honey

Phil Ebert began Ebert Honey in 1980 with only about ten colonies, and they sat in the backyard of his Fairfield home. At that time, one five-gallon bucket of honey seemed like a large amount. Once the honey was bottled, it was mainly sold out of the house.

In the last four decades, Phil and his sons, Adam and Alex, grew the business from 10 hives to over 1200 hives presently based around Mount Vernon and Lynnville, Iowa. The hives produce around 100,000 pounds of honey every year, and the hive count continues to grow annually.

Adam began raising queen bees in 2007, and developed the queen side of the business to the point of selling a few thousand queen bees every year.  His wife, Andria, began helping with the bees in 2017, and now handles the bulk of queen sales. Adam and Andria's son, Andrew, also helps with the bees! Check out our facebook page for videos for the family beekeeping together!

The family also provides honey in any quantity and beeswax in filtered and unfiltered forms ranging from 1 oz. to 40 lb. blocks on pallets. Beeswax works great for everything from candles and cosmetics to die casting.

Feel free to give us a call or stop on by! Give Andria a call before you drop by, we are often out playing with the bees! Her number is 319-430-3800.
